This is a sign on the register at J. Viviano and Sons market on The Hill, which is the famous Italian neighborhood in the City of St. Louis. This is an awesome Italian grocery store with a decidedly old-school feel, and this sign does nothing to change your feelings on that as you wait to check out!
Some businesses might fear alienating customers by putting up a sign like this. Viviano’s cares about lines that are 5-deep waiting to check out while some jerkface is talking away on his cellphone. Get off the damn phone! This tells me that Viviano’s cares about its customers.
Yes, I am aware of the irony of whipping out my cellphone to snap this picture. I did it as quickly as possible, and there was no one behind me!
No question — I have been trying to do this more and more myself. I think you really excel at this Chris — you have built a very “approachable” business.
Thank you Russ! I try….
Thanks for sharing – we have had lots of positive comments on this sign at the register!
