Advertising as Seen Through The Eyes of an 8 Year Old

Well, she’s only 8 and she already thinks the advertisers are lying.

Remembering 9-11 Thru The Eyes of a 7 Year Old

My 7 year old daughter made this 9/11 tribute drawing

The Mind Of A Child Is A Beautiful Thing (And So Is Mayor Slay’s Social Media Usage)

As I drove down Watson Road, crossing River Des Peres, in my hometown of St. Louis, MO, my 6 year old daughter commented on the drabness of winter:

Trust me, she said alot more than this! She’s a verbose little thing, while Twitter keeps me in a 140-character box. Speaking of Twitter, I pulled over right away to capture all of these little thoughts, and yes, I tweeted the mayor. She insisted I let him know.

He and his staff got right back with me. A few DMs later, we’re invited to come downtown in springtime to help plant flowers. My daughter will absolutely love this. And Mayor Slay and his staff said, “Tell your daughter thank you for caring about her city.”

Say what you will, but find me a mayor doing a better job with Twitter than Mayor Slay and his staff.

Goldilocks and The Three Martians

My dad was over watching our two daughters (5 and 2) last week, and while together, they decided to write a story.  This story is worth sharing!  Take a break every once in a while. It will keep your head from exploding.

GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE MARTIANS

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Goldilocks. She lived with her mother who was very bossy. (?) She leaves her house with her secret key. It was the key to her rocketship.  And she was leaving for Mars. She has packed her space suit, her cat, dog, and hamster. Her dog Ruff-Ruff, her cat Maurice, Harry Hamster, and Goldilocks blasted off into space.

Goldilocks met three mean Martians. They are grumpy because they never take naps and only eat peas. Goldilocks made Martian soup but they didn’t like it.  And they threw it at Goldilocks. It was very hot soup but her space suit saved her.  THE END.

Not bad for a 5 year old!
